We just got back from a trip up the coast to San Francisco because I ran the Nike Womens Half Marathon and it was one of the best weekends. We really fell in love with that city. It's such a fun place because it has the beauty of California, but the hustle and bustle of New York with SO much to do. Our days were so packed full that we came home exhausted, yet still anxious to get back. The race was one of the best I've ever done because of how well it was put together and the course was great. Not to mention there are little blue Tiffany's boxes waiting for you at the finish line with your race necklace and firefighters in tuxes ready for a photo. I ran the race with a bunch of girlfriends and the whole race just flew by because we talked the whole time. This race should definitely be on everyone's bucket list! I also thought I'd share some photos and what we loved about our trip so that if you are going on a weekend trip there, you can have some good suggestions of what to do. We stayed with our friends who live in a great neighborhood in the city that made it so fun to experience a lot while we're there, especially all the local favorites and get around by all the public transportation. So here you have it, our trip itinerary from the best weekend in the bay.

Foreign Cinema [we had dinner here and it was amazing. we ate outside under the stringing lights and they play old movies on the wall]

Smittens Ice Cream [best ice cream! they make it fresh from liquid nitrogen right in front of you]

Ferry Building [farmers market on Saturdays is so fun with delicious local cafe shops inside]

Pier 39 [boat rides, touristy shops, street performers, and photo ops]

Fishermans Warf [just down the street from pier 39 and filled with the best seafood. be sure to eat clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl from Boudin Bakery]

Ghirardelli Square [a must stop while in SF for some of the best chocolate ever and ice cream sundaes]

Ride a Cable Car [the line is super long on Hyde Street so we went to another stop where the lines were a lot shorter and you can get off or on at any stop]

Union Square [the main downtown spot with every store to shop you could want and this is where the race exposition is]

China Town [we got take-out with some of the best chinese food, but we didn't make it to the Fortune Cookie Factory which I really wanted to see and taste some fresh ones]

Golden Gate Bridge [we found a great lookout spot by Fort Point to take a picture of the bridge and hung out at the beach at Crissy Field]

See the Painted Ladies at Alamo Square [one of the most famous parks with a view of the picturesque houses made famous from "Full House"]

La Taqueria [we had to come here cause our friends said the carne asada burrito is the best burrito ever and it is! and probably the only good mexican food in SF]

Tartine Bakery [this famous spot is so good that they don't even have a sign outside but there is still a line around the block. delicious panini sandwiches and the desserts are to die for!]
