Peanut Butter Cookies
We are embracing the holiday treats in full swing over here and with so many different events and parties going on, I feel like I'm always baking something. I needed a dessert to bring to a baptism this past weekend for a cute young woman in my church and I didn't have time to go to the store for the dessert I was planning on making so then my husband was like, how about some peanut butter cookies? and I was like done! I had all the ingredients on hand and they were so quick and easy to whip up! I haven't made these in so long that I forgot how good they are. I think these make a perfect cookie to bring to a holiday party this month because they are different than a sugar cookie or regular chocolate chip cookie. And just a little tip, we use the Trader Joe's all natural creamy peanut butter and it is our absolute favorite! We need to buy that stuff in bulk because we are always going back for more.
| INGREDIENTS |
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 3/4 cup flour
1 package milk chocolate Hershey kisses [unwrap while cookies are baking]
| DIRECTIONS |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream butter, peanut butter and sugars together, add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Stir in flour, soda, and salt, until well blended. Mold into balls and roll in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes, remove from oven and place chocolate kiss in center of each cookie. Let cool.
