The Grand America Weekend
While we were in Utah the past two weeks, we were able to spend a couple of days having a belated anniversary celebration at the hotel where we spent our wedding night four years ago. The Grand America in Salt Lake City is one of the most beautiful hotels you will find anywhere and it's right in the heart of our home state. It was the perfect time for us to have a little getaway because we had our parents there to watch our little girl and Adam had those days off work, and seriously we have never spent the night away from her cause one of us is always with her. The design is so beautiful at the Grand with exquisite flower arrangements right when you walk in the doors [not to mention fresh chocolate chip cookies and lemon water] and a beautiful courtyard in the middle of the hotel. We filled our stay with visits to the spa and the most amazing indoor swimming pool I've ever seen, gelato from La Bonne Vie, and shopping for our little lady at the toy shop, Jou Jou. The hotel is really close to the best restaurants downtown and City Creek Center for shopping or a walk around Temple Square to see the beautiful tulips this time of year. It was so nice getting to sleep in and enjoy some delicious breakfast in bed, such a luxury that you never get as a parent. I loved the gorgeous marble bathroom in our room that I took about two bathtubs because I've never enjoyed a tub more than being pregnant. And I still can't get over how nice the pillows are that we slept on - I wish I could have brought them home with me because I've never had such a comfortable pillow that is the perfect combo of firm and soft! The hotel was also so sweet to deliver chocolate dipped strawberries to our room and leave chocolates in there when we arrived. If you are looking for a place to stay in Salt Lake City, anytime of the year because they always make every holiday a big celebration, then I would highly recommend The Grand. All the food there was amazing and I hope we'll get the chance to go back again next year. Cheers to four amazing years of being married to my best friend!!
