Even though I wasn't able to be at Fashion Week in New York, I still kept a close eye on the shows going on and I wanted to share my favorite trends from the shows this past week - specifically the ones you can actually start incorporating into your wardrobe now instead of waiting for next fall.
1 | DEEP SIDE PART
Fashion Week is not just for checking out all the clothes, it's all about the complete look from what color the models nails are painted to the makeup she has on - every detailed is planned out by the designer and done on purpose. The deep side parted hair is a trend I noticed in lots of shows, with either a clean slick back pony tail or straight hair - the look for fall is clean and tailored with a definite part.
2 | BOLD LIPS
Another beauty trend that was dominant is bold lips. Whether they were bright orange or a deep red, the lips were a focal point along with the thick and bold eyebrows that we all know and love.
3 | BIG FLORAL PRINTS
Floral is a big trend for this fall and it's the perfect thing to wear now. The main color trends are still a lot of black and white, oxblood and a bright red, blush pink, and all white. Blue will also be a big color for fall which is great because it's the hot color right now and with lots of denim on denim we are bound to keep it going.
4 | MENSWEAR
A lot of women's looks are being inspired by menswear for this next fall. Pant suits are all the rage, oversized dress coats with a belt around them to give them some shape, statement parkas, styled capes, and the biggest new trend of cropped bell trousers. The wide-leg pants that are making a come back are bringing a little twist with the cropped look, but I think they look really cute paired with strappy high heels.
5 | FUR
Fur was all over the place and almost every designer had a piece of it in their show. There is lots of trends going on in the animal kingdom right now with leather and leopard still being hot for fall as well as feathers that we saw brought in and lots of shearling lined coats for a shorter fur look.
6 | METALLICS
Metallics are still hot and not going anywhere. There were lots of metallic shoes with strappy opened toed heels and embellished details on everything. I loved the gold sequin pants from the jcrew presentation and all of the pretty details on every shoe. All of these different textures paired together just makes the prettiest combination to me.
