Fall 2014 Fashion Trends

With the end of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York this week, I wanted to continue with my fall trends report and talk about fashion because there were lots of them spotted off the runway on the streets of New York by the trendsetting attendees.  I have gathered up all my favorite finds for every trend happening this fall and what I think are the must-have items.  It's so fun to see what styles are coming in and what new fun ways you can dress up your wardrobe, but I still think it's important to build with classics that will last in your closet season after season and then spice it up with a few of these things that are new this year.

FUR AND SHAG  [shearling and fur touches on everything]

DRESSES OVER PANTS  [long tunics buttoned up shirts over skinny jeans]

BIG BRIMMED HATS  [western style take on the fedora and floppy hat]

DARK COLORS  [all black, shades of blue, and ruby red are the seasons colors]

MENSWEAR INSPIRED  [oxford style shoes like the boys]

SLITTED SKIRTS  [pencil skirts have added slits in the front and long skirts have side slits]

SNEAKERS  [most popular shoe trend is casual shoes with everything]

WIDE-LEG PANTS  [these come in dressy slacks to denim. pair with high-heels]

SPARKLY SHOES  [metallics are big in makeup and shoes with sparkles or metallic silver]
