Weekend Favorites
Our days are getting numbered here in California and we’ve been trying to squeeze in any favorite spots that we can and order take-out from all of our must-have places since we can’t go in to all of them. We spent a day in Huntington Beach where the kids had so much fun in the sand, it felt amazing. They even got to play with their cute little cousin, Ivan. Since all of our beaches and trails have been shut down for the past two months, it feels like the greatest things to dip our toes in the ocean again - something we will never take for granted. We also spent a day in Newport Beach going to our favorite beach spot and getting food we love, including a stop at Dad’s Balboa Bars on Balboa Island. I’m cherishing these memories with our kids so much and have been so grateful to have a backyard through all of this where our trampoline has saved us and doing any water activity outside that we can with the kids.
May is skin cancer awareness month and wearing sunscreen everyday is the best way you can protect yourself. This mineral sunscreen is my favorite because it has the best ingredients as well as being water resistant, protecting UVA/ UVB and blue light.
I spent an afternoon with the kids at the South Coast Botanical Gardens which are gorgeous right now with everything in bloom. The rose gardens are amazing with flowers in every color. You have to make a reservation online and wear a mask.
