Aug 12 Newport Beach Family Vacation

We had our last big family vacation for the summer at the end of July down in Newport Beach with my whole extended family. My cute mom turned 60 this year and it was her birthday wish to have all of her kids and grandkids together for a beach vacation so they booked the Marriott Newport Villas for all of us to come and stay for a week and it was so much fun. It was the first time we have had all five of us kids [with our spouses and our own babies] on a trip together in a long time. We are quite the large group now with 12 adults and 12 grandkids so getting into restaurants is fun;) But there are lots of cousins for our kids to play with and they adore all of them so much. I have the best memories growing up going on family vacations with all of my cousins so seeing my kids having fun with theirs and building friendships makes me so happy. It was fun that we only had to drive a little ways down south to get to our destination and we got to show all of my family who lives outside of California, all of our favorite places. The Newport Villas were the perfect spot for us to stay because it's right between the beaches at Newport and Laguna, but you also get to enjoy the fun pools at the resort and all of the amenities like tennis, basketball, playgrounds, miniature golf, fire pits, and even a movie theater. We had barbecues to cook dinners at the resort a few nights and nice kitchens in all of the rooms so we didn't have to go out for every breakfast. On our last night together we went to Little Corona Del Mar beach and took some family pictures with all of us to remember this fun vacation we got to have together and because my mom loves nothing more than having all of her kids together and in such a gorgeous spot. The lighting was amazing at this time of night and I couldn't believe how pretty this beach was with all the rocks. We were starving after though and headed to Fashion Island after where we had the best dinner at Yard House.
