Fourth of July Picnic
I love the Fourth of July and everything that comes with it, so it's been really fun that we get to celebrate the holiday with family this year in Sun Valley, ID. My kids have been surrounded by cousins this past week and are having the best time. There's nothing better than getting to be with family in such a fun place. The weather has been gorgeous and the house we are staying at by the Sun Valley Lodge is amazing. We have this huge backyard surrounded by beautiful flowers everywhere and views that I can't get over. We had to make a little Fourth of July picnic for the kids with these cute new Re-Play Recycle patriotic dishes and it was pretty funny trying to get pictures of all of them. I kept the food simple with classic peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into star shapes and a variety of berries. This is such an easy thing to do for your kids on the fourth that makes it feel special for them. I love that you can buy this set of dishes and it even comes with the picnic basket and cute cloth. We've been using these dishes all week long because they are so perfect for the kids and easy to clean up. I also love making a morning routine because when I have my day written out the night before I feel like it goes so much smoother, then I know what needs to be done for everyone so we all thrive. It’s also important to find moments throughout your day where you can take a moment to yourself even if it’s just going out for a walk or if you can plan a girls night where you can be out doing something fun with friends then take that opportunity because it will fill up your cup so that you can then serve others better. I’ve gone on a couple of hikes this past week with some different girlfriends and it feels so amazing to get out in some beautiful scenery and take a break from everything.
Our days are getting numbered here in California and we’ve been trying to squeeze in any favorite spots that we can and order take-out from all of our must-have places since we can’t go in to all of them. We spent a day in Huntington Beach where the kids had so much fun in the sand, it felt amazing. They even got to play with their cute little cousin, Ivan. Since all of our beaches and trails have been shut down for the past two months, it feels like the greatest things to dip our toes in the ocean again
